3M is a strategic partner of VOSTOK-SERVICE group. The company finished building of its first own  factory in Volokolamsk, Moscow area. Construction of the production complex had started in 2006 and finished at the end of 2007. At 4th of July, 2008 the Head of Volokolamsky area gave permission for plant start-up.

      3M general director in Russia Svetlana Balakova, production and supply director Harry Wess, plant director Mikhail Kalinin, 3M EUROPE production vice-president Charles Birn, Minister of the external economic relations of Moscow area Tigran Karakhanov and the Head of Volokolamsky municipal area Vyacheslav Karabanov took part in the opening ceremony.

      «This event is the breakthrough for 3M representation in Russia, that means that the country is economically stable and Russian specialists are professional. We are grateful to everybody who took part in building of the plant. Also we want to thank the administration of Volokolamsky area who helped to realize such a large-scale building», — Svetlana Balanova, general director of 3M Russia commented.

      The plant will produce anticorrosive materials for protection of pipelines, gasmasks. 3M production complex in Volokolamsk has ultramodern equipment, only three enterprises all over the world have the same. 3M plant will have the first research laboratory of the company in Russia. More than 50 employees are involved into production. By the end of the year the quantity of the employees will increase to 90 persons. The citizens of Volokolamsk are invited for work at the plant. The company organizes special trainings for them.

      «The opening of the plant is outstanding achievement. When launching production of filter half mask in Russia, VOSTOK-SERVICE group could respond to consumer demand and its change, — says Alexander Radchenko product director of VOSTOK-SERVICE group. — Undoubtedly, in the first place product delivery dates will be reduced. Moreover, we plan to make joint projects with 3M in the field of developing of innovative products — the latest PPE for respiratory protection, because this problem is the most actual for Russian and CIS countries enterprises».
